PMA's 7th Bi Annual Chairman's Gala

On March 24th of 2009 PMA held their seventh Bi Annual Chairman’s Gala at the Toronto Hunt.

It was another beautiful day for the event as in all the past Gala’s we have hosted. Nearly 500 of Ontario’s top Restauranteurs and resort owners were in attendance along with 50 LCBO product consultants and Canada’s top wine writers.

This years events included seminars on Riesling by Heinrich Breuer from the Georg Breuer winery in Rudesheim Germany as well as a South African Terrior seminars presented by Master of Cape Wine, Berenice barker of South Africa. As a special treat this year an International Wine makers dinner was held the night before the Gala where six guests and their wines were featured and presented by representatives of the wineries expertly matched to a food course by Chef Darrin Fedak of Toronto Hunt and Marcel Bergstein Club House manager.

The evening started with cocktails from SKYY Vodka with a special guest David Stock Regional VP of SKYY Spirits.

Other guests included Lamberto Frescobaldi from Fattoria I Collazzi in Tuscany, Stefano Tombesi from Moncaro in the Marche region of Italy, Berenice Barker from Steelnbosch , South Africa,Naas Erasmus from Distell in South Africa, Craig McDonald from Wayne Gretzky Estate in Niagara, Diego Surazsky from Bodegas Norton in Argentina and a special course with Neil Sharp with Innis & Gunn from Scotland matching an excellent Scottish Ale with a course.

The Chairman’s Gala featured 60 of our best wines served with a wide variety of Food stations .

The evening finished off with over 30 cocktails being prepared in the Spirit room by the Martini Club . Cocktails were all very unique and covered the whole spectrum of the PMA Spirits portfolio.
