PMA has announced that Badri Narasimhan, William Grant & Sons’ Chief Officer, Network Distribution Companies, has been appointed as Chair of the PMA Board, effective from 1 October 2022.
Announcing the appointment, PMA vice-chairman Peter Mielzynski Jr. said that Badri will join Heather Alper, WG&S’s Regional Managing Director for US & Canada and Tom Bene, CEO of Breakthru Beverage, as PMA directors alongside PMA general manager Rob Morrell.
Badri joined WG&S as an Executive Board member earlier this year from PepsiCo where he led the Global Franchise Function. His previous experience includes business growth roles with Britvic, SAB Miller, Accenture and Unilever.
Peter welcomed Badri to his new role as PMA Board Chair. “Badri joins us as we continue to differentiate ourselves as a truly standalone Canadian distributorship, competing with North American and other more broadly-based competitors.
“I’m delighted that we’ll be able to benefit from Badri’s extensive experience with a range of global businesses to help guide us on our growth journey in the Canadian wine and spirits industry.”
Badri commented: “It’s a real privilege to be joining PMA for the next chapter of the company’s 40-year success story in Canada. Our focus will be to continue to invest in our people and our technology as we respond to the challenges of a constantly changing industry.”
