Drambuie

About Drambuie:
Scotch Whisky Liqueur made with aged Highland whisky, heather honey, herbs and spices. Whiskies from Speyside and Highland regions renowned for their softness and smoothness are used to complement the herbs and spices of the elixir, creating a full-bodied and harmonious spirit. The exact recipe for Drambuie has been a closely guarded secret for centuries, dating back to when it was brought to Scotland in 1745. The process by which it is made has remained unaltered over the years and remains a secret known only to a few this day. The name Drambuie, is derived from the Gaelic term, An Dram Buidheach, meaning, The Drink That Satisfies.

Drambuie has always been at the heart of cocktail culture; through prohibition up to the present day. It is the one irreplaceable ingredient in The Rusty Nail™; which ranks alongside the Old Fashioned, the Negroni and the Martini as one of the world’s unforgettable classic cocktails. Trademarked to Drambuie, The Rusty Nail™ origins are uncertain, but its influence is unmistakable. After rising to become the drink of choice for the New York club scene in the 50s, the Rat Pack adopted The Rusty Nail™ in the 1960s as their signature drink. The Rusty Nail™ is made using 1 part Drambuie, 2 parts Scotch, stirred over ice and garnished with a lemon peel.

Tasting Notes:
A complex, yet harmonious elixir of herbs and spices, enhanced with the sweet nuances of heather honey. Well-balanced and full-bodied.
