About Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch:
Monkey Shoulder is a ‘blended malt whisky’, marrying together 3 of Speyside’s finest single malt whiskies first aged in first fill bourbon casks before being married together in a Tun. Our Master Blender set out to create a liquid with all the credentials of a single malt whisky with the versatility and mixability to put it front and centre of a cocktail revolution.
And we’ve succeeded – Monkey Shoulder is the:
• TOP TRENDING SCOTCH in the world’s 50 best bars, and was just named
• “BEST BLENDED MALT SCOTCH WHISKY” at the prestigious
2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The term ‘monkey shoulder’ harks back to our whisky making heritage. It is a reference to a condition that maltmen sometimes picked up while working long shifts, turning the barley by hand. It had a tendency to cause their arm to hang down a bit like a monkey’s, so they nicknamed it ‘monkey shoulder’.
Tasting Notes:
Zesty orange, mellow vanilla, honey and spiced oak and toasted sesame aromas. Tastes of spicy cinnamon, ginger, zesty orange, mellow vanilla and baking spices. All this with a super smooth finish.
